Newbury
Park is on the western edge of Thousand Oaks along
the 101 freeway. This is a wonderful bedroom community
that backs up the Santa Monica Mountains. Those mountains
make a really gorgeous backdrop.
The
weather is moderate and ocean breezes often blow the
afternoon heat away during the summer months. The
housing is evenly split between older homes (1960's)
and mostly newer homes that are on the middle to upper-middle
level. There is an enormous development that has been
underway for a few years, called Dos Vientos Ranch.
This is made up of several different communities and
offers prized living.
Employment
can be as close as a few minutes in Thousand Oaks
or a moderate commute into the San Fernando Valley.
Downtown Los Angeles or the Westside is starting to
get pretty far, however, many chose this area as home
and that commute is just part of price to live in
this desirable community.
Shopping
is close by in Thousand Oaks and the very popular
"Outlet" stores of Camarillo are not more
than 20 minutes away.
