As you can guess from the name, North Hollywood, is north of it's famous neighbor, Hollywood. We think that is just a little bit of a stretch, as it is really about 5 miles north (and over a set of hills). Anyway, this area is just south of the Burbank Airport and is along the 134 freeway and 170 freeway. It is a larger diverse area with many different looks and feels.

There is a large industrial base near the airport, so jobs are plentiful and close-by. Shopping is excellent in nearby communities. Recreation is very close with Griffith Park offering many different recreation opportunities, including two favorite public golf courses. Universal Studios is next door and Universal CityWalk is a favorite. It's free to roam (except parking fees) and people-watch. Very interesting place, especially on a weekend evening.

The housing comes in many different flavors, if you will. There is some low end, entry housing and some middle level. As a very general rule, the more South you are, the more expensive the housing is. There is a large assortment of condominium and townhome projects to choose from.

At this time, the subway (MTA Red Line) has the end-of-the-line station in North Hollywood. We regularly use this form of transportation to travel to downtown Los Angeles and find it clean, quick and efficient.
