Sun
Valley is located in the far east of the San Fernando
Valley, just to the north of Burbank. It straddles
the 5 freeway
This
area has long been known for it's rock and gravel
industry, with most of the homes in the Valley being
built with products from these big rock pits. There
is a thriving industrial base here, serving many different
industries. This area is located very close the Burbank
Airport and has industry that serves that area also.
Commuting
out of this area for employment is very easy with
the proximity to the 5 freeway. The other major east
bound freeway is the 210, and that is about a 10-15
minute drive away.
Recreation
is close by with easy access to Hansen Dam Park and
public golf course. It is also an easy drive to get
to Big Tujunga Canyon, which is part of the Angeles
National Forest. One of our favorite biking routes
is a long climb up La Tuna Canyon, then over to the
Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
The
housing is mostly lower-middle to lower level with
prices to match. The housing is mostly older, being
built in the early 1950's.
