Thousand
Oaks is located at the junction of the 101 freeway
and the 23 freeway in eastern Ventura County. It is
regularly voted as the best place to live in Ventura
County and that says a lot, looking at the other communities
in the County.
The
moderate climate, with the warm summer days cooled
by afternoon ocean breezes, pride of community, good
schools, attractive shopping, good employment
and
good housing add up to a very attractive place to
call home
The
Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village Chamber of Commerce
website is one of the best we have seen. There is
abundant quality information on that site, so we recommend
spending time there to learn more about this community.
See the links below.
There
are so many positive things to say about this area.
We want to present an even-handed review for you,
but we don't have much negative to say. OK, we'll
pick on the traffic. If you have to commute a long
way from T.O. ("Tee-Oh".. ..that's what
some of the locals call it) you will have traffic.
It can be fierce, especially around the 23-101 junction.
Seriously, that's about it. Maybe there is more one
item. All the benefits have caused housing prices
to be high, but not unreasonable compared to surrounding
areas.
