Valley
Glen is one of the newer areas to be identified in
the San Fernando Valley. It is located just north
of Sherman Oaks, between North Hollywood and Van Nuys.
It is easy to think of this area as the area that
surrounds Los Angeles Valley College.
The
housing in this area is mostly older single family
homes. There are some apartments. The neighborhoods
are generally well kept and show good pride of ownership.
Most
of the jobs will be outside Valley Glen, however,
the commute should be very reasonable. If you drop
south to the 101 freeway, you can work your way to
downtown Los Angeles easily. This part of the freeway
is heavily traveled, so it will be slow, but steady.
Most people going to the Westside from here would
take Coldwater Canyon south up and over the hill.
This will drop you in Beverly Hills, just a few minutes
from Century City or the Westside.
