West
Hills is located in the west San Fernando Valley,
just north of Woodland Hills. It is a highly desirable
community made up of primarily of single family homes.
Currently it is one of the better housing values in
the Valley.
The
housing in this area is middle to upper end. Most
of the homes are moderate in size and price. They
are usually very well kept, showing good pride of
ownership. The upper end housing is in several different
tracts. Some of these neighborhoods are brand new,
with the older ones being only 20 years old. The general
trend for this area is very positive, with no negative
influences present or projected.
There
is very little direct employment in this area, so
a commute is in order. The 101 freeway is a quick
6-10 minutes away. The 118 freeway is a little more
work, but you can still get to the freeway in about
20 minutes. Depending on your destination after you
get on the freeway, you may find this to be a difficult
commute. Most people living in this area find it manageable.
And considering the value in house prices, they feel
it is a worthwhile tradeoff.
